Manufacturing equipment consisting of charging station, mixer
with high speed refining heads, and two bagging stations.
Charges are carefully assembled and weighed according to a batch sheet showing the amounts of each raw material. Batch sheets record raw material lot numbers which allow tracing each box of finished product to the constituent components. After a batch is assembled, it is double checked for accuracy. A charge is loaded into the mixer through a bag dump station and powder flight conveyor. To reduce the
likelihood of back injury, individual bags are lifted with a Dalmec mechanical assist. Accuracy of raw material addition is assured by subtracting the tare weight of the emptied bags from the gross weight assembled to go into the batch. This is done after each raw material is added. A spreadsheet in a computer is used to compare the actual weights added to the design weights. It calculates the amounts if any adjustments are required to make the batch correctly match the designed recipe.
