Hammond Expanders has developed many formulations over the decades, but undoubtedly the one we have put the most effort into is our recently developed HE-C-6-MaxLife. For vehicles such as electric cars, hybrid cars, electric bicycles as well as solar & wind power storage which all operate under a partial state of charge, the lead-acid battery needs an expander that will allow for a very high number of cycles. During our many years of R&D for this formulation, 100,000 cycles and more was proven to be possible. The lead-acid battery now has an available ingredient in the form of our HE-C-6-MaxLife that makes a green initiative possible, affordable and recyclable.
Another recent development of Hammond Expanders is our HE-UltraStart. This expander is truely ultrapremium, offering a 4% increase in reserve capacity over our next best, a 7.7% increase in cold cranking performance over our next best with an increased rate of charge acceptance. This expander is best suited for climates ranging from cool summer, to subarctic to tundra and ice. When cold conditons demand top performance in a battery, your best bet is HE-UltraStart.
A Wide Selection of Lignins Available
Realizing that different battery manufactures may prefer to use different lignosulfonates for their expander applications, Hammond Expanders recently began to offer a variety of lignins for all of our formulations. Depending on the climate and application, a higher performing lignin may not be necessary, offering savings to the manufacturer. Similarly, when performance is the only issue, we offer the highest quality lignin available. Whatever the need, the desired cost or desired performance, we have the lignin for you.
